After reading my testimony, I hope that you have seen what wonderful things the Lord can do in each of our lives. If you would like to have this life-changing relationship with the Lord of all, the Bible gives us the way:
Romans 3:23 tells us: “For all have sinned and come short of the Glory of God.”
It is a hard thing to face up to, but everyone has sinned and does not live up to the standard that the Lord has laid down in His Word. Every one of us is a sinner before a perfect God.
Romans 6:23 says: “For the wages of sin is death…”
There is a price for your sins that needs to be paid. James 1:15 even tells us that the price for that is death: “…sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.” Our sin makes us worthy of death and eternal separation from God.
Isaiah 64:6 tells us that we, in ourselves, cannot pay for that price that is demanded: “But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.”
Even the righteous and good works that we do cannot pay for our sins because even the good that we do is tainted by sin and cannot earn us Heaven. Galatians 3:24 tells us: “Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.” The rules that we abide by are not to give us salvation, but to show that we are flawed and cannot earn our own way to Heaven.
The Good News is found stated in II Corinthians 5:21, where Paul tells us that Jesus already paid this debt for us! “For He (God) hath made Him (Christ) to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.” Christ, Himself, even tells us in John 14:6: “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by Me.”
Because of this, we read in Romans 5:18: “Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one (Christ) the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.”
This is amazing news for us! It means that this eternal life is FREE! In order to obtain it, you must repent before God as Acts 3:19 tells us: “Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord.”
Then, you must realize that you need to trust in Christ alone for your eternal life. I John 5:11-12 tells us: “And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.”
John finishes out the thought in verse 13 of that chapter when he says: “These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.” This is my hope as well: that you would believe and know where you will spend eternity! The responsibility for each of us is to know where our paths are leading. Where is your life’s path headed?
May the Lord bless you! We hope that you go away from this with a knowledge of Christ and what He did for us.
